Singer impressionist Tom Stevens is returning for his third performance in the 500-seat CasaBlanca Showroom Saturday beginning at 6 p.m., and those planning to attend should arrive early.
“We had another home run last Saturday,” beamed the talented Stevens, who impersonates more than 40 superstars covering a 40-year span. “It was sold out and in fact, we could not get another body in the showroom.
“The audience was overwhelming and the accolades afterwards were over the top.”
Randy Black, who owns the CasaBlanca along with the Virgin River, was among those who congratulated Stevens after the show.
“He is the first owner of a hotel that ever sat through my show and congratulated me afterwards,” said Stevens, 51, who has now performed in five Southern Nevada hotel-casinos. “It was a huge tribute, that’s for sure. It’s so nice to work for someone like Randy and his hands-on approach to business really impresses me. I have never had a hotel owner compliment me like that before.”
This Saturday’s show was moved to an earlier time slot to accommodate fans from Utah who are expected to make the trek. Still other fans are expected to travel from Las Vegas.
“I have so many fans follow me from one performance to another,” said Stevens adding that repeat customers are the ultimate compliment in show business. “Word of mouth regarding my show has been tremendous.”
Stevens impersonates a long list of stars including Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson, Paul Anka, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, George Burns, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Louie Armstrong, Julie Iglesias and even Cher.
Still other characters Stevens impersonates include former President Bill Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Peter Falk, Jimmy Stewart, Robert DeNiro and Bill Cosby. His “Karaoke Party” is considered the funniest eight minutes in Las Vegas.
Among the most popular stars portrayed by Stevens are Neil Diamond (Sweet Caroline) and yet another for the Phantom.
“This is a show where people relax and have a good time,” Stevens said recently. “They appreciate the chance to return to yesteryear.”
Stevens has also signed to perform at the CasaBlanca Nov. 7, Nov. 21 and Jan. 23.
