Home Health Care Company Receives Award
Posting Date: 09-19-2009

On Aug. 5, Virgin Valley Home Care and Hospice received the 2009 HealthIn-sight Quality Award for the fifth year in a row.

HealthInsight is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Nevada and Utah.

VVHC was selected for demonstrating high quality health care and excellence in performance on publicly reported quality of care measures.

These measures come from clinical and administrative data that are collected from home health agencies across the nation.
Excellence, for the purposes of this award, is linked to achievement of 90th percentile in national home health rankings.

State survey results are also a factor in determining award recipients.

Award recipients must also have specified Quality Markers in place.
The award program was launched in September of 2004 to promote a health care system that is "accountable to the public, works openly, makes results known, and builds trust through disclousure."
