Time To Head 'Back To Church' |
"Back To Church Sunday" Set For Sept. 13
If it's been a while since you've seen the inside of a church, this weekend will be a great time to go. The First Baptist Church of Mesquite will be joining other churches around the nation participating in "Back To Church Sunday" on Sept. 13. The event is a nationwide movement intended to reach out to the "un-churched," those who don't belong to any church, and the "de-churched," who used to attend church but haven't been back in a while. [[AD-3-Right]] The event is part of a program called "Re-Think Church" which encourages people to reconsider how they view church, and addresses the 10 most common reasons people give for not attending church. The First Baptist Church of Mesquite is dedicating this Sunday's service to "helping people enjoy coming to church again." "First Baptist Church isn’t about religion, but is interested in relationships," says a press release issued by the church last week. The local congregation is offering a free "no-obligation look" at church and how it can help change the lives of those who make it a part of their week. This Sunday's services include a worship at 8 a.m., with another service at 10:45 a.m. Childcare and special activities for children up to age 10 are also available. The church is located at 700 Hardy Way. For more information or transportation please call the church office at 702-346-7061 or visit their website at www.fbcmesquite.com.
