Jim McMurray has been named Mesa View Regional Hospital’s Volunteer of the Year for 2010.
McMurray was pleasantly surprised when he was chosen.
“This is awesome," McMurray said. "All of the volunteers do a really super job assisting our patients.”
McMurray has been volunteering at Mesa View since April of 2007.
You will know Jim when you see him, always smiling and making any room a more cheery place.
“Jim goes out of his way to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable, I appreciate the time and effort he takes for the good of our patients”, said Mark Buchanan, Volunteer Coordinator.
No stranger to volunteering his time, McMurray has also served as a volunteer on the Board of Directors of his Homeowners Association in The Canyons. [Read full story]

The Southern Nevada Health District is offering back-to-school immunizations.
Immunization clinics will be held at the Mesquite Public Health Center, 830 Hafen Lane, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Parents must bring immunization records.
Children with no records will have to begin the immunization sequence from the beginning.
Non-custodial adults may accompany a child, however, written consent must be provided to the health district from the parent or guardian at the time of service.
An administrative fee of $16 per patient for one immunization or $25 per patient for two or more immunizations will be collected.  [Read full story]
